2 popular singers who were present at Old Trafford for Ronaldo’s second debut for Man United

Ronaldo’s second debut for Manchester United was nothing short of exhilarating. Not just because of the goals, but also the distinguished guests who were present. Distinguished dignitaries made their way to Old Trafford to watch Ronaldo play. Among theses honoured guests were two popular singers. They are mentioned below;

1. Burna Boy
Nigeria’s Grammy Award winning singer Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy was present for Ronaldo’s debut. He was spotted in the residential area of the stands wearing his Manchester United shirt with the number 23 imprint.

The singer has always been a Manchester United fan. He has good relations with the club and some of the club’s players. He recently featured in a Pepsi advertisement with Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The singer also took his mother and his entourage along with him to Old Trafford.

2. Stormzy
The talented British rapper was also present to watch Ronaldo make his debut for Manchester United. Just like Burna Boy, he wore a Manchester United shirt just like the fans. He is also a known Manchester United fan. He and Paul Pogba also share a friendship. He posed for a photo with fellow singer Burna Boy before the game kicked off.

Asides Ronaldo’s debut, another possible reason for the unusual appearance at Old Trafford by Burna Boy and Stormzy could be to promote Burna Boy’s show. His ‘Space Adrift’ concert was scheduled to happen after Manchester United’s game against Newcastle. Burna Boy and Paul Pogba were seen dancing on stage during the concerts after the game.

The singers were not the only dignitaries to appear at Old Trafford. One member of the Glazer family was spotted in the stands. Mr Glazer had not been at Old Trafford since 2018 but attended the game to watch Ronaldo. In case you’re wondering, the Glazer family owns Manchester United Football Club. Former Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was also seen in the stands.

Ronaldo’s mum was also seen in the stands. She was spotted crying after Ronaldo scored his first goal since he re-signed for Manchester United.

For his children Cristiano Jr, 11, Eva Maria, four, Mateo, four and Alana Martina, three, it meant moving schools.

And they all posed for an adorable family picture in their uniforms as they prepare for life in England.

Cristiano Jr, who previously starred for Juventus’ youth squad, was born in America in 2010, believed to be with a surrogate mother.

Ronaldo then announced in June 2017 that he had fathered twins via a surrogate mother again, also in the United States.

The same year, Georgina gave birth to birth to baby daughter Alana Martina.

Ronaldo, 36, left United in 2009 to join Real Madrid in a then-record £80million move.

From there, he joined Juventus but after three years in Italy, the Portugal icon told the club he wanted to leave.

United, who first signed Ronaldo in 2003 from Sporting Lisbon, swooped in and agreed a deal nearing £13m.

And it could now also see his eldest join United’s U-12 side, who Wayne Rooney’s boy Kai, 12, plays for.

Rooney, who won the Champions League and English title with Ronaldo, spoke glowingly about his former team-mate after news of his return.

He said: “Cristiano is still one of the best players in the world and has won titles everywhere he’s been so he’s going to be huge

“He still wants to be the best and I’m sure he will have a big impact on them this season.

“Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] will certainly know that he’s in a position now where he needs to start winning these big titles with the players that he’s brought in.

“For their development, to get to the next step now is to start winning titles.”

4 Reasons why Ronaldo should be made The New Captain at Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo is widely considered to be one of the world’s greatest footballers of all time. The 36-year-old Portuguese professional footballer made headlines when he made a surprise return to his English Premier League boyhood, club Manchester United.

In this article, I’ll be sharing with you four reasons why the newly signed Manchester United star should be made the club’s new captain.

1. He is a Club Legend

Cristiano played for at Old Trafford during the Sir Alex Ferguson era alongside the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, the club’s current coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and many more.

He knows the history of Manchester United more than any player who currently plays and played a major in the accomplishments and trophies during his time at the club.

There’s no doubt that if for any reason a player like him still plays at Old Trafford then such a player is in the best position to wear the club’s captain armband.

2. He is Older and Much More Experienced Than United’s Current Captain

Ronaldo is eight years old than the club’s 28-year-old current captain Harry Maguire, and his experience as a footballer surpasses that of the English defender in every way.

3. He Has Proven To Be a Capable Captain For The Portuguese Football Team And Could Do The Same at United

Very few captains carry their team the way the 36-year-old footballer carries the Portuguese national football team in major international competitions.

There’s no doubt that Portugal’s national football team is always a much better side when playing alongside their captain, and Cristiano Ronaldo’s positive impact on the team is often visible to everyone.

Making a player like Ronaldo the captain of Manchester United will, without doubt, make them a much better side against opponents both in the premier league and European clubs tournaments.

4. Has a Higher Reputation Than The Club’s Current Captain

Cristiano is widely considered to be one of the greatest players of all time and is also a club legend.

Many successful players in Manchester United and other reputable football clubs look up to Ronaldo as a role model and a football legend. His accomplishments give him a higher reputation than Harry Maguire who also holds the Portuguese player with high regard.

Ronaldo becoming the club’s captain will make the team more balanced on the pitch and is also likely to prevent possible dressing room problems.
